Bacon Sauerkraut Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Bacon
  • 1/2 Jar Sauerkraut
  • 1 + 1/2 Cups of White Rice
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  • 1. Cook rice as usual. Set aside.
  • 2. Put Sauerkraut in a strainer rinse with cold water and let drain for about 10 min.
  • 3. Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces and fry until almost crispy. Drain half the bacon fat into a cup and set aside.
  • 4. Pour all the drained Sauerkraut into frying pan with the bacon and mix until sauerkraut is warm.
  • 5. Pour all the cooked rice in the pan with the bacon and sauerkraut and mix well.
  • 6. Keep adding Salt and Pepper to taste. You will need a lot of pepper.
  • (For more flavor pour the remaining bacon fat in the mixture.)
  • 7. Serve.
